Our Intensive Reading Academy is designed for children who need accelerated reading instruction. Students attend two hours each day, five days a week, for 12 weeks, receiving 120 hours of expert instruction in small groups of no more than six children.
Every day, students receive systematic, evidence-based instruction across all five essential components of reading:
Phonological Awareness
Phonics (Alphabetic Principle)
Reading Fluency
Vocabulary
Reading Comprehension
This immersive model provides daily practice, immediate feedback, individualized support, and continuous progress monitoring. Not every child needs intensive instruction in every area of reading. Some children may already read accurately but struggle with comprehension. Others may need additional support with phonics, fluency, vocabulary, or phonological awareness. Our Individual Reading Skill Academies allow families to build a personalized reading program based on their child's specific needs.
Families may enroll in one or more of our specialized reading academies:

Reading Comprehension Academy
Each academy meets one hour per class, and families may choose to attend one, two, three, four, or five days each week, depending on the level of support their child would benefit from. For example, a child might attend Phonics and Fluency three days each week, or Vocabulary and Reading Comprehension twice each week. The schedule is flexible and can be tailored to meet your child's educational goals.
Every academy follows a carefully designed 12-week curriculum with instruction provided in small groups, allowing children to receive individualized attention while practicing new skills with peers at a similar developmental level.
Small Group Reading Instruction (3 to 6 Students)
Every Beehive Reading Academy class is intentionally limited to 3–6 students to provide individualized, high-quality instruction in a supportive learning environment. Small group sizes allow teachers to tailor instruction to each child's developmental reading level, provide immediate feedback, monitor progress closely, and adjust teaching strategies based on each student's needs.
With more opportunities to read aloud, ask questions, participate in discussions, and receive one-on-one coaching, children build confidence, strengthen foundational reading skills, and make meaningful progress across all five pillars of reading. Our small-group model combines the individualized attention of private instruction with the motivation, collaboration, and social learning that naturally occur when children learn alongside peers.
