Teaching Children the Way They Were Meant to Learn

NO Technology

Real Teachers-Real Learning-Real Childhood

One Beehive, One Shared Purpose

At Beehive Academy, we believe the activity is not the goal—it is the teaching tool. Unlike traditional extracurricular programs that focus primarily on learning a skill such as tumbling, music, or dance, our research-based developmental curriculum intentionally uses these engaging activities to develop the foundational communication, language, executive functioning, social-emotional, fine motor, gross motor, attention, problem-solving, and self-regulation skills children need to thrive.

We also believe children learn best through real experiences, real relationships, and expert teaching—not through screens. Technology is not used as a teaching tool in our classrooms or therapy. Instead, every lesson is hands-on, interactive, and led by highly qualified professionals who engage children through conversation, books, movement, music, art, science, dramatic play, exploration, and meaningful learning experiences. Children learn by asking questions, solving problems, creating, building, reading, writing, collaborating, and discovering alongside expert teachers and their peers.

Every 60-minute class is carefully planned so that each game, movement activity, song, project, experiment, or lesson targets specific developmental objectives. While children are having fun and learning a new activity, they are simultaneously developing the underlying skills that support success in school, relationships, sports, and everyday life. This intentional, developmental approach is what makes Beehive Academy different and ensures every class develops far more than the activity itself.

Rather than offering isolated services, Beehive Academy brings together multiple specialized academies under one roof, creating a truly collaborative approach to child development. Each academy focuses on a different area of growth, while our professionals work together to develop coordinated, individualized plans that support the whole child.

In addition to therapeutic services, Beehive Academy offers a wide variety of developmental and enrichment programs for both neurodivergent and neurotypical children. These academies provide meaningful opportunities for children to learn, play, create, explore, and build friendships while strengthening the academic, communication, and developmental skills that prepare them for lifelong success.

While each academy specializes in a unique area of child development, they are never isolated from one another. Our speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), educators, reading specialists, and language and educational experts collaborate across disciplines to ensure every child benefits from a coordinated, comprehensive plan that supports communication, learning, behavior, social development, emotional growth, independence, and academic achievement.

At Beehive Academy, we believe in traditional, hands-on teaching supported by modern research. We believe great teachers—not technology—create great learners. Together, we are building confident learners, capable communicators, creative thinkers, strong problem-solvers, and successful children—one meaningful experience at a time.

Beehive Academy’s Educational Success Programs

Beehive Academy's Educational Success Programs are different because we don't simply teach reading, writing, math, or science—we intentionally develop the foundational skills that allow children to become confident, successful learners. Using our research-based developmental curriculum, every lesson combines hands-on, project-based learning with purposeful instruction that strengthens the underlying cognitive, language, executive functioning, and motor skills that support academic success.

Beehive Academy offers four educational success programs focused on enhancing academic skills with project-based learning and hands-on opportunities. These programs include:

  • Intensive Reading Success
Reading requires much more than recognizing words. Our program develops phonological awareness, phonics, vocabulary, language comprehension, listening skills, memory, attention, processing speed, decoding, reading fluency, comprehension, and critical thinking through engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that build confident, lifelong readers.

  • Writing Success
Strong writing begins long before children write paragraphs. Our program develops fine motor control, pencil grasp, visual-motor integration, handwriting, spelling, grammar, sentence formulation, expressive language, organization, sequencing, planning, working memory, creativity, and written expression to help children communicate their ideas with confidence.

  • Math Success
Mathematics is built on foundational thinking skills. Children strengthen number sense, mathematical language, pattern recognition, logical reasoning, visual-spatial skills, problem-solving, working memory, attention, cognitive flexibility, sequencing, and executive functioning through hands-on activities that make math meaningful and enjoyable.

  • Science Discovery
Science becomes the vehicle for developing curiosity and higher-level thinking. Through exploration, experiments, engineering challenges, and project-based learning, children strengthen observation, inquiry, prediction, problem-solving, cause-and-effect reasoning, language development, collaboration, executive functioning, creativity, and critical thinking while discovering how the world works.

Unlike traditional tutoring or enrichment programs that primarily focus on teaching academic content, Beehive Academy develops the underlying developmental skills that make learning possible. By strengthening the cognitive, communication, motor, and executive functioning skills that support academic achievement, children build the foundation needed for long-term success in school and beyond. Programs are offered in a variety of schedules and intensities to meet each child's individual developmental and educational needs.

Movement Activities

Beehive Academy offers movement activities designed to enhance learning various life skills in fun and creative ways with others. These programs include:

  • Tumbling Foundations

Our beginner tumbling program uses movement, obstacle courses, balance activities, and gymnastics skills to develop far more than physical ability. Children strengthen core stability, balance, bilateral coordination, body awareness, motor planning, executive functioning, confidence, persistence, and the ability to follow multi-step directions—all essential developmental skills that support success in sports, the classroom, and everyday life.

  • Piano Foundations

Our beginning piano program is designed to develop much more than musical ability. Through learning rhythm, patterns, finger movements, and simple songs, children strengthen attention, listening skills, working memory, sequencing, bilateral coordination, fine motor control, processing speed, and cognitive flexibility. Music becomes the vehicle for developing the brain skills that support reading, mathematics, language, and academic learning.

  • Dance Foundations

Our dance classes use creative movement, rhythm, and choreography to intentionally build gross motor coordination, balance, body awareness, self-regulation, social interaction, listening, memory, sequencing, confidence, and expressive communication. Children gain the developmental skills needed for future dance opportunities while simultaneously strengthening the physical, cognitive, and social abilities that benefit them in every aspect of life.

Unlike traditional extracurricular programs that primarily teach an activity, Beehive Academy teaches developmental skills through the activity. Every lesson is intentionally designed around specific developmental objectives, ensuring children leave each class stronger not only in tumbling, music, or dance, but also in the foundational communication, thinking, motor, social, and executive functioning skills that prepare them for lifelong success. Our semester-long programs are offered throughout the school year as after-school enrichment classes, giving children the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive while doing what they love.

At Beehive Academy, we don't simply provide toys or supervise free play. Our research-based developmental curriculum intentionally uses play to teach the underlying communication, language, cognitive, social, emotional, executive functioning, and motor skills that children need to become confident, independent, and socially successful. Every activity has a developmental purpose, allowing children to learn naturally while having fun with their peers.

Beehive Academy offers two primary groups focused on play and social development:

  • Play Labs

The Play Lab™ is a semester-based developmental program where children participate in carefully designed play experiences that strengthen every area of development. Rather than simply providing toys and free play, our educators intentionally design activities that help children progress through the developmental stages of play while building communication, problem-solving, social relationships, and independence.

  • Friday/ Saturday Social Club

Each Friday and Saturday evening, children join the same consistent group of peers for a fun-filled night centered around a different high-interest theme. Activities may include escape rooms, engineering and building challenges, cooking competitions, science experiments, game tournaments, theater and improv, sports challenges, art studios, outdoor adventures, mystery nights, STEM projects, team missions, and creative problem-solving experiences. While every evening is packed with fun, each activity is intentionally designed using Beehive Academy's research-based developmental curriculum to teach the skills children need to build friendships and succeed in everyday life.

At Beehive Academy, play is never “just play.” Every activity is intentionally designed to strengthen communication, executive function, social development, motor skills, independence, and academic readiness through joyful, meaningful experiences that children love. We believe every child deserves a childhood filled with imagination, laughter, discovery, friendship, and adventure.

At Beehive Academy, we believe every child deserves access to exceptional developmental, educational, and therapeutic services. Our goal is simple: to remove barriers so children receive the support they need to communicate, learn, build friendships, become more independent, and thrive.
