Insurance Coverage at Beehive Academy
We help families understand their benefits and pursue coverage for eligible ABA, Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and other clinical services.

INSURANCE IS FOR CLINICAL SERVICES

Insurance and Beehive Memberships Are Separate

This is important:

Health insurance may be used for eligible medically necessary clinical services.

Examples may include:

  • ABA Therapy

  • Speech-Language Therapy

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Eligible clinical evaluations and assessments

  • Other covered clinical services

Beehive Memberships are different.

Beehive Memberships are private-pay educational, developmental, social, academic, movement, and enrichment programs.

Membership activities may include programs such as:

  • Reading

  • Writing

  • Math

  • Science and engineering

  • Social groups

  • Friendship groups

  • Art

  • Music

  • Piano

  • Theatre

  • Ballet

  • Tap

  • Dance

  • Tumbling

  • Academic enrichment

  • Developmental learning activities

Membership fees are not billed to health insurance.

A child does not need a Beehive Membership to receive insurance-funded therapy.

A child does not need to receive therapy to participate in a Beehive Membership.

Families may choose therapy, membership programs, or both.

When a child participates in both programs, the services, scheduling, documentation, and billing remain separate.

WHAT IF MY INSURANCE ISN'T LISTED?

Please contact us anyway.

The insurance plans listed on this page are not necessarily the only plans we can work with.

Our network participation is continuing to grow, and insurance credentialing changes throughout the year.

If you have an insurance company that is not listed here, our team can review your plan and determine what options may be available.

We are actively working with numerous additional insurance companies to expand coverage for Beehive families.

WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN'T HAVE A DIAGNOSIS YET?

That's okay.

You can contact Beehive Academy even if your child does not have a diagnosis.

Parents often contact us because they are concerned about their child's:

  • Speech

  • Language

  • Communication

  • Behavior

  • Emotional regulation

  • Social development

  • Fine or gross motor development

  • Learning

  • Attention

  • Independence

  • School readiness

  • Overall developmental progress

Our team can help you understand what type of evaluation or service may be the appropriate next step.

Some insurance-funded services may ultimately require a diagnosis, referral, medical necessity determination, or other documentation. We can help explain those requirements when they apply.

Insurance can be confusing. Our goal is to make the process as simple as possible for families.

Beehive Academy works with many of the major insurance plans used by families in Idaho, and we are continually adding additional insurance carriers and plans.

When you contact us for ABA Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or another eligible clinical service, our team will help you determine whether your insurance may cover the service.

You do not have to figure out insurance on your own.

Our team can:

  • Verify your insurance benefits

  • Determine whether Beehive is in-network with your specific plan

  • Check whether a referral is required

  • Determine whether prior authorization is needed

  • Help obtain required authorizations when applicable

  • Communicate with your insurance company regarding coverage requirements

  • Help you understand deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and other benefits information provided by your plan

  • Discuss private-pay options when insurance coverage is unavailable

We will work with your insurance company to pursue coverage for eligible clinical services whenever possible.

INSURANCE AND ABA THERAPY

Beehive Academy works with major insurance carriers for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services.

Our ABA insurance participation includes commercial insurance plans, and we are continuing to expand the number of plans we accept.

ABA Insurance

We currently work with major carriers including:

Aetna
Cigna
Blue Cross of Idaho

We are also actively working through enrollment and credentialing with:

TRICARE
Idaho Medicaid

Additional insurance plans are also being pursued.

Because individual employer plans and insurance benefits vary, being contracted with an insurance carrier does not automatically mean that every plan or every service is covered.

Contact us and we will check your specific benefits.

INSURANCE AND SPEECH-LANGUAGE THERAPY

We Are Actively Expanding Our Speech Insurance Network

Beehive Academy is actively completing insurance credentialing for Speech-Language Pathology services.

Our SLP credentialing efforts currently include:

Aetna
Cigna
Blue Cross of Idaho
Idaho Medicaid

We are also working with additional insurance carriers to expand access to speech and language services for families throughout the Treasure Valley.

If your insurance plan is still in the credentialing process, please contact us. Our intake team can discuss the current status of your plan and available options.

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Developmental assessment

  • Behavioral assessment

  • Communication assessment

  • Parent/caregiver training

Our intake team will request basic insurance information so that we can investigate your benefits.

We may ask for:

  • Child's name and date of birth

  • Insurance company

  • Member ID

  • Primary concerns

Some insurance plans require an evaluation, diagnosis, physician referral, treatment plan, or prior authorization before therapy can begin.

When applicable, our team will help coordinate the information needed to request authorization for services.

If insurance does not cover a particular service, we can also discuss available private-pay options.
