Beehive Academy

Enrollment Process

Our Enrollment Process

At Beehive Academy, enrollment begins with getting to know your child—not simply choosing a class from a schedule. We want to understand your child's strengths, developmental needs, interests, and your family's goals before recommending a program.

Step 1: Tour Beehive Academy

We invite families to begin with a tour of Beehive Academy. You'll have an opportunity to see our learning spaces, learn about our hands-on and teacher-led approach, meet our team, and ask questions about our programs. We want parents to understand how Beehive works and what makes our developmental approach different before making any decisions about enrollment.

Step 2: Complimentary Developmental Screening

As part of the enrollment process, we offer families a free screening in areas where they may have questions or concerns about their child. Depending on your child's needs, this may include areas such as:

  • Speech and articulation

  • Language and communication

  • Hearing

  • Reading and early literacy

  • Math

  • Learning and academic readiness

  • Motor and developmental skills

  • Social and emotional development

  • Attention and executive functioning

  • Other areas of development or learning

The purpose of the screening is to help us better understand your child and identify areas of strength as well as areas that may benefit from additional instruction, support, or further evaluation.

Step 3: Review the Results Together

After the screening, we sit down with parents and review what we found. We explain the results, answer questions, and discuss what the information may mean for your child's learning and development.

A screening is not the same as a comprehensive evaluation. If the screening identifies an area that warrants a full evaluation, we will discuss that recommendation with you and, when appropriate, help you determine the next steps or schedule a comprehensive evaluation.

Step 4: Build Your Child's Class Plan

Once we understand your child's current skills and needs, we review the Beehive Academy class schedule with you and recommend classes that we believe would be the best fit.

We don't believe every child needs the same schedule. A child may benefit from a combination of academic, communication, motor, creative, social, or developmental experiences. Our goal is to use each class as an opportunity to strengthen the underlying skills children need for learning and everyday life.

Parents are an important part of this process. We collaborate with you to develop a schedule that considers your child's needs and interests while also working for your family's daily routine.

Step 5: Choose the Best Enrollment Option

After developing your child's recommended schedule, we review the available membership and enrollment options with you. Together, we consider how often your child will attend, the classes you have selected, your family's schedule, and the cost.

Our goal is to help you choose an enrollment option that makes sense for both your child and your family's lifestyle and budget.

Step 6: Enroll & Begin

Once we have developed the plan together, your child is ready to enroll and begin classes at Beehive Academy.

From the first tour through enrollment, our process is designed to be collaborative and individualized. Rather than asking parents to figure out which classes their child needs on their own, our team—including specialized professionals such as SLPs, OTs, BCBAs, master's-level teachers, reading specialists, and educational and language specialists—works with families to help create a thoughtful, whole-child learning plan.
