Reading is one of the most important skills a child will ever learn—but becoming a successful reader involves much more than recognizing words on a page.

At Beehive Reading Academy, we believe that successful reading begins years before a child reads their first book. Strong readers are built by developing language, listening, memory, attention, executive functioning, phonological awareness, and critical thinking skills that form the foundation for literacy.

Our Developmental Reading Academy follows evidence-based instructional practices grounded in the Science of Reading while using our unique developmental approach to identify and strengthen the underlying skills that support lifelong reading success.

Small Group Reading Instruction (3 to 8 Students)

Every Beehive Reading Academy class is intentionally limited to 3–8 students to provide individualized, high-quality instruction in a supportive learning environment. Small group sizes allow teachers to tailor instruction to each child's developmental reading level, provide immediate feedback, monitor progress closely, and adjust teaching strategies based on each student's needs.

With more opportunities to read aloud, ask questions, participate in discussions, and receive one-on-one coaching, children build confidence, strengthen foundational reading skills, and make meaningful progress across all five pillars of reading. Our small-group model combines the individualized attention of private instruction with the motivation, collaboration, and social learning that naturally occur when children learn alongside peers.
